Contact/Work with me

I’m Sinéad, a mother of three and blogger based in Galway City. Shinners & the Brood is a family & parenting blog which focuses on the lighter side of parenting.  I draw inspiration from working parents, stay-at-home-parents and parents in general who are trying to juggle it all and the blog is a place where readers can find solace, solidarity and support, often accompanied by a little good-humoured sarcasm! I write about a range of topics including:
  • my  experiences as a parent;
  • family travel and days out;
  • family food;
  • products, tips and hacks that I think will be of interest to my readers.

I won Best Blog Post in the Parenting section of the 2018 Irish Blog Awards. I was also shortlisted for the Best Parenting Blog in the V by Very Irish Blog Awards, 2017. I was included in a list of  New Bloggers to Watch in 2017  by Britmums and a list of  Top 10 Irish Parenting Blogs’ by AIG Ireland.  I’ve had posts featured on and, The M Word and Britmums and I’m a member of the Irish Parenting Bloggers Group and Netmums and I currently rank in the top 500 parenting blogs on Tots 100, a list of over 10,000 registered blogs in the UK and Ireland.

Shinners & the Brood’s readership is typically female, aged between 25 and 44. The top visiting countries are Ireland and the UK. Readers are predominantly parents. My audience is very engaged, with posts receiving a high volume of comments.

I really enjoyed working with Sinead, I had read her blog and thought I knew what I’d be getting if I asked her to review my costumes, but I was blown away by just how much work she put in. Sinéad wrote an incredibly detailed review, which was both honest and well crafted. She quoted from my website, linked to my social pages, produced fantastic images for social and she even went to the trouble of matching her pinnable image to my brand colours. Incredible! Sinéad is very particular about who she works with and that integrity really shines through in her writing.

Sinéad was a fantastic blogger to work with. Communicative and professional, we were delighted with her creative, amusing post on our product and the manner in which she planned and organised a giveaway. We are looking forward to working with her again in the future!

Working with Sinéad was a delight. Her blog post about our product left no question unanswered, and was creative and quirky in a way that got even me excited to test it out (and I already have one!) We will certainly be working with her again in the future!
